I thought I would enter a layout in the Purple Pumpkin January Challenge! What do you think? The papers are Pretty Little Studio available at Handmade Halo as is the handmade lace flower (bottom), resin flowers and ticket. The remainder of the embellishments (except for the branch and butterfly - they are Kaiser) are all from Purple Pumpkin - the lace flower (top), twine, spotty button, little lace doiley and vinyl heart.

Hello everyone!

Just letting you know that classes for 2012 resume tomorrow! Class is from 5:30pm - 7:30pm and costs just $15 which includes the class and your papers required to complete the class! Bookings are essential and can be made via phone, sms or email!

Most class layouts can be created, and a photo or two, added later. All layouts are catered for landscape or portrait photos and can be used for photos of any topic!

Just thought I would share a layout I have done for the Purple Pumpkin October Challenge using the Puppy Button kit and the sketch....I fell in love with this kit as soon as I saw it and just had to do the challenge using a pic of Dude posing for the camera!

I was so creative that I even used the packet the buttons came in as the plastic bow under the puppy button LOL!

I am sorry I have been such a stranger.....There is no excuse for my lack of blogging.....Just pure time loss! Please forgive me.....

I am sitting here with my eyes popping out of my head after a long and very very testing 10 and a half hour day at work.....and thought to myself, I MUST update my blog....after a conversation with Tracey and Crece' from Fancy That Scrapbooking, I realised even more that this is something that I need to do and do often.....I can assure you all, I will try!

Sooooo - what is going on in the world of you crafty, scrappy, lovely people????? Leave a comment and on the weekend I will read them all and do a random draw for a small prize from me!

Saturday is the Handmade Expo at the Ipswich Turf Club Brisbane Road Bundamba! I hope the weather stays fine!!!! Do you think it will be? There is a very special lady attending this month - Gigi from GiSt Creative will be there with some of her gorgeous canvas creations! I can't wait to see them all! I would love another "girl" to come and live with Miss Billy.....and even though I make my own, they are just not the same!!!!!!

Well I think that is enough babbling for me for one night....and I also think I really need to go to bed!

Has it really been that long????

Well I have had a few big months....so much going on....My Nana fell really ill and is in hospital and has been for weeks and weeks, I fell over at derby training and haven't been able to skate for weeks and weeks - have another doctors appointment tomorrow and then of course - retreat organising!!!!

It is going to be a big one - and I for one can't wait!!!! A little birdie tells me that there are only 16 (I think) more sleeps!! Whoo hoo!!

And then on this day - 22 years ago - I gave birth to my first born....Happy Birthday to Dacynta!

So there you have it - a wrap up of my busy life in just a few sentences!

And on top of all of that in my scrapping life there has been the regular Monday night classes, The Handmade Expo, I am teaching a class up at Mimmi's at Forest Hill on Friday (there are still 2 places available if you are interested) and all the goings on at ScrapLounge!!!

Busy Busy Busy!!!! Hopefully things will settle down again soon and I can get busy blogging again!

Oh my....it really has been a while hasn't it? I am so sorry for my lack of blogging....I am not going to bore you with what has been happening - but let's just say I have been super busy!

Retreat
Plans are going well! This retreat is going to be fabulous! Would you like to come? September can't come soon enough I tell you!

Scrapping
There has been lots of that happening! I have been in a Circle Journal swap over at Artistic Document - the first one I have ever been in....it has been lots of fun - I have just two more to take the pics for and then I am done! I have also been a part of the ATC Swap over there! I am loving ATC's at the moment!

ScrapLounge has the monthly sketch and technique challenges - this month the technique is Decorative Borders.

And the gorgeous sketch was done by Kym! Here is my layout from the sketch! The photos are of my gorgeous girls and I on Mother's Day. We had such a nice morning out (just before I had to head up the Sunshine Coast for a derby game) at the Nerrima Gardens at Queen's Park in Ipswich. Oh and Macca's for breakfast - YUM!

And of course there is the "Be Inspired" challenge that I put up every month to try and get you thinking outside of the box!

I also decided that I would join in the fun of some blog challenges - I only got one done and guess what??? I won!!!! I was so excited I tell you! This was for Fancy That Scrapbooking! It was a sketch challenge and you all know how much I love sketches! Here is my layout for that one!

And how about that....all three layouts with photos of me! That just never happens!

APRIL CHALLENGES!

Over at Scraplounge (http://www.scraplounge.com.au/) are three new challenges for April - the monthly Sketch Challenge was designed by me - here is my sketch and example:

And over at Artistic Document (http://www.artisticdocument.com/) I was lucky enough to be asked to be the Guest Deisgner for this month!

My challenge over there is:

Retreat Plans!!!

Hello Everyone

Retreat plans are coming along nicely - there have been a couple of ladies who have already paid in full for the retreat in September - THANK YOU LADIES!!!! {you know who you are!}

For those of you who have also paid your deposit - THANK YOU too! Just remember you need to make "at least" monthly payments for the retreat. If you haven't already received your payment plan, please let me know and I will email it through to you!

Starting in a couple of weeks, there is going to be a bit of a treasure hunt. Every week from when the "hunt" starts you will collect items along the way and put them aside to bring to retreat. There will be a prize available for one lucky person who has collected all items - and then another prize available for another lucky person who completes the challenge! More information coming soon......

This month the technique challenge is stamping. In the layout below I have stamped with bubble wrap, used Staz on to stamp on the acetate butterflies (which I punced out of some packaging) and I also masked some Tim Holtz leaves....The photo is of Shannon modelling a Pretzel dress.

And the sketch this month was designed by Kym Cowan. I love creating with Kym's sketches and I hope you love what I have created. I have used Prima papers and Zva bling. I also stamped using a mini stamp around the border of circle. This pic is of Cinta and her friend Hayley.

Just thought I would share some of my recent layouts...The first is a pic of the ute that I shared in the previous post...and the second is of Miss Bella a little while ago now - she is growing up soooo fast. I wish I could see her more often - but I was lucky enough to spend the whole day with her and Trina and my Mum and my Nana even came to visit - last Wednesday. It was such a fantastic day and I really didnt want to go home...

Well I will share some more layouts soon - the first of the month to be precise!!! and I will be blogging more often this year and that is a promise!

I know I said I would be back last night - but what a day....and then oh so hot last night and I just didnt feel like being on the computer....(I dont now - but I did promise...and as soon as I am done, I am going to go and put my bikinis (sorry to scare you all!) on and jump in the pool!!!!!

So here are some pics of what we experienced here over the last couple of weeks - it wasn't a very nice feeling I have to say...

This is on the corner of Brisbane and East Streets in Ipswich. This is the complex where Suburban Mayhem is (my daughter's clothing shop) and it went under up to thigh high on me. We managed to get all of the stock out - but all the fittings are damaged beyond repair. Dacynta is devastated to say the least....

This was before the peak of the tide. Lots of dirty, smelly, brown water and mud inundated the complex.

This is John (my husband) on his way to work on the Tuesday morning....The current just picked him up and took him out to deeeeeep water....

And this is a pic of Ipswich - The Bremer River - from the main bridge....You could not imagine the amount of water that was around....you really had to see it to believe it...although I saw it and I still don't believe it.

These were photos of my own personal experiences - there were many of my friends, and many strangers who have lost everything. My heart goes out to all those people who lost a little or a lot.....

hehehe.....well that didn't last long did it???

I know....I shouldn't make promises about making blog posts should I? In my defence it has been a pretty horrific couple of weeks with the floods and all the devastation that has come with it and of course now....I am back at work....

I have been very busy organising the next Stick 'n' Giggle retreat - and applying some of the finer details there and of course - creating!!!! Getting in as much as I could inbetween everything else that has been going on....

I will be back tonight (this I do promise) with all the details of the retreat and some pics of the floods and of what I have been up to!

Yeah I know....I have been slack yet again....I am really going to try this year - try for at least a weekly post!

Lots will be happening at Stick 'n' Giggle in 2011 - there will be more classes, more crop nights, more stock and of course more fun!

There will be another retreat - hopefully bigger and better than the last one - and as soon as I confirm dates - I will share it with you! Of course you do not have to be a scrapbooker to come along to retreat. If you just want a weekend away with lots of fun and laughs, then this is for you too!

Oh My Gosh....

Ok so I know time is flying....but I can't believe that I haven't blogged in so long - my apologies - please forgive me! I will NEVER leave it this long again! I PROMISE!

Well let's see....a lot has happened since I was last here - I have been to Townsville (my first ever Derby Bout and my first ever Flight too!), Stick 'n' Giggle held yet another retreat up at Noosa North Shore Retreat (and wasn't it fantastic!), LOTS and LOTS of new stock has arrived and more is coming and I have been scrapping up a storm!

All the new challenges are up over at ScrapLounge (www.scraplounge.com.au) pop over for some inspiration and sign up and come on in for a chat as well!

Classes are going very well (HELLO to all my wonderful regulars!) and the new calendar will be emailed out tonight!

Retreat is sneaking up on me fast...so much to do and just not enough hours in the day!

Not to mention the other "hobby" that I have taken up as well - taking 2 afternoons a week from me! (but hey - I need the exercise...) Roller Derby! Yep that is right - me playing roller derby! hahaha! I love it! and dont knock it til you try it! I have just passed Fresh Meat and am now a proud Level 2 Brisbane City Rollers Derby Girl! Back - back to scrapping stuff! Soooooo there will be lots of new stuff arriving this week (I was hoping for last week - but it didnt come - I know it is on its way now!!!! The Handmade Expo

This Saturday at the Ipswich Turf Club Brisbane Road Bundamba from 8am - 2pm - the Handmade Expo is on! 100 plus stalls of handmadies showcasing their gorgeous creations! Everything from baby items to jewellery, from yummy food to bags, from soaps to pet items! You have to check it out!

Stick 'n' Giggle will be there with lots of stock - including the new releases from Basic Grey - Olivia and Oliver! Very cute indeed! If there is anything in particular that you would like me to bring along, please feel free to email me or leave a comment!

I was at Handmade Heaven in amongst all of these wonderful Handmadies...Do you know how hard it was not to buy anything?????

Retreat!

Well it is full steam ahead - the retreat details have been emailed to those of you who have said they were considering coming along....The deposit is due to be paid by the end of the month - but if you can't do that - just let me know and we can work something out! A payment plan will be sent to anyone who would prefer to "lay-by" - it works out to be just $25 a week!

Stick 'n' Giggle Retreat!

Well - here it is - the details you have all been waiting for - the wait is finally over!!! Some of you may have already received an email!!!!!

The retreat will be held on the weekend of September 24, 25 & 26 at Noosa North Shore Retreat. Noosa is situated about 2 hours north of Brisbane. The beach is just a stones' throw away.....

The cost will be $275 per person and will include all main meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner), with a coffee station on hand at all times with tea, coffee and water, accommodation (no bunk beds here!!!!) which also includes full use of the swimming pool and surrounds, and goodie bag on arrival – oh and of course – 3 days of continuous scrapping, laughter, and time spent with scrappy friends.

If you are interested in coming along, please let me know as soon as possible (either by email or post here!) so that I can start compiling a detailed list and send information to those of you who will be joining me on this much needed weekend away! This is my Crazy Sister! My mummy is making the most gorgeous crochet flowers (which will be at the next Handmade Expo 26 June from 8am - 2pm at the Ipswich Racecourse!) and we were trying to get a nice photo to feature on the blog....Sandii just had to play and so I scrapped it using the new "Green at Heart" Basic Grey Papers.

Those that know me, know - I DON'T DO CARDS! These were a couple that I made from leftovers from my CT kit over at ScrapLounge using the Bo Bunny Mama Razzie range!

Sweet young love - another of Cinta and Mitch's adorable photos! I gave this layout a vintagy feel by using lots of distressing!

We are Family! I told you about our recent Family Reunion get together.....well this is a pic from the day. Nan, Pop and all the Grandkids (minus two)

Sooo it has been a while since my last post hasn't it??? I have been so busy - and I know that is a terrible excuse! I will get better I promise....You want to know what I have been up to????

Well....since my last post I have:

Celebrated my Nana's 80th birthday!
Celebrated my Mum's birthday and of course Mother's Day.....
Had a family reunion
and done some serious 4wding!

Things have been pretty constant and I have been making the most of every minute I can.

The shop is going well! Tuesday night classes are a blast with all the regular girls: Susan, Erica, Kimbly, Heather and Adele....and sometimes Louise comes along too! I hope some more of you drop in soon! We are planning on building a fence on the side and Stick 'n' Giggle will have it's own entrance....that should be happening real soon! I will post all about it when it is done!

Well this time I promise it won't be so long between posts....Tomorrow I will share some pics of my recent layouts!

So here it is - my new space! Stick 'n' Giggle is right at home in the rumpus room of my house. Floor space is that same as I had at the shop - it is just a different shape so it feels like there is more room. The workshop table has its' own place too under some nice bright fluro lights and the ducted air con keeps us nice and cool. We got to test it out last night with a full house at the card class girls (you know who you are!) I think everyone enjoyed the atmosphere and had a great time (other than Bonnie (the dog) wanting to go home with everyone and Dude (the other doggie) wanting to come and make cards with us LOL!

Within the next couple of weeks, John and I will be busy busy busy putting in a side fence in and moving some cars (I hope) so that the entrance will be totally separate from the house! I hope you will come and visit soon!

Yeah I know....it has been a long time between posts yet again....I have just been so busy putting Stick 'n' Giggle back together - for a while it looked a little like Humpty Dumpty after he fell off the wall *sigh*....I will take some pics tomorrow and let you all see how spacious and roomy the new look SnG is and hopefully you will come and visit the store at home!

I am even hoping to have the remainder of my Prima order arrive this week - that means all new yummy flowers and the papers from the new ranges that hadn't yet arrived - it also means new BLING!!!!!!! I can't wait to see it all!

I miss you all so much! Keep your eyes out for the remainder of April and May calendar coming soon!

Stick 'n' Giggle is closing the doors.....

not permanently....but I am moving the store back home. I am sad.....but it is what I have to do right now!

This means that i will only be open on Tuesday afternoon/night til 7.30pm and other times by appointment only or when a class is scheduled. I will still be doing monthly class schedules and hope that you will come along! I would like to thank you all for your support and friendship over the last year. This was a very hard decision for me to make.

Sooooo.....this Friday 9am-4.30pm and Saturday 9am-2pm there will be a 20% off storewide sale and then the shop will be closed from then - yep that's right - closed from this Saturday 27 March. I will then re-open after Easter at home. If you are interested coming along for a look see or to attend any of the classes in the future, please email me and let me know and I will forward you my address. Alternatively, you can phone me on the mobile any time

Hi everyone....blushing....I am not going to apologise again (although I should!) I have been so so busy trying to get my life/worklife/ business balance in order - but it is just not happening for me right now!!!!

Stick 'n' Giggle does have NEW stock though! New Prima in store now!!!! Here are some sneaks!!!! pop in for a look real soon - i am sure they are all going to be very very popular!

Well I am very sorry to say....Stick 'n' Giggle did not win - and sadly - neither did Handmade Heaven. But a huge congrats to Optimum Health, Nutritional Health and Wellness Clinic who did take out the award for Best New Business in the Ipswich district. I felt I was already a winner just making it through to the finals - what an honour!

It was a great night though! Here are some pics!

I know....I have been slack once again.....there just aren't enough hours in the day for me to do what I have to and need to do!
